The Power Of Apple Seed Oil

Apple seed oil is a fixed oil extracted from apple seeds.

It is used for the medical and cosmetic purposes.

Apple seeds have  high concentrations of protein and oil.

The minerals found in the seed are magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron and calcium could be found in apple seed oil.

It has low content of the protein amygdalin which can produce cyanide on crushing.

It also contains fiber, natural sulfur (sulphur) in the form bound to amino acids, various fats including  alpha-linoleic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid.

Flavour

The oil has pleasant and mild taste with sweet aroma.

Uses

It is used as an ingredient in lotions, soaps, creams, lip balms and hair products.

Issues

Apple seeds possess cyanide that is harmful but apple seed oil is regarded as  healthy and is now used as an edible oil or as part of a skin care regime.

  1. Interesting stuff. It doesn’t last as long as almond or coconut oil. I think it went off or rancid quite fast.

  2. I was always told apple seed was not good for you but I guess the oil is a useful ingredient in cosmetics and personal care products.
