Vaginosis or vaginitis is a major issue for women.

Bacterial vaginosis can produce premature labour and delivery in pregnant women. It is more prevalent in women with pelvic inflammatory disease. It also causes post abortion infection, postpartum fever and hysterectomy infections.

The bacterial form is responsible for 40 per cent of all cases of women of reproductive age visiting the doctor. The other vaginal disease is vulvovaginal candidiasis.
