Using Microbial Fermentation to Produce Pyruvate

Pyruvate serves as a valuable precursor for the synthesis of chemicals, including lactic acid, acetic acid, and ethanol. It is also used in the production of pharmaceuticals, such as antibiotics and antimalarial drugs. Furthermore, pyruvate-derived compounds are utilized in the food and beverage industry as flavor enhancers and preservatives.
