Here’s a tangy, creamy, probiotic-rich Kefir Ranch Dressing that’s super easy to whip up. It’s lighter than traditional ranch but still full of sharp flavour—and it only takes about 5–10 minutes.
Equipment Needed:
-
Measuring spoons & cups
-
Small mixing bowl (or mason jar with lid)
-
Whisk (or spoon if shaking in a jar)
-
Knife and cutting board (for fresh herbs, optional)
-
Garlic press or microplane (optional for fresh garlic)
Ingredients:
-
¾ cup plain kefir (whole milk for richness; low-fat works too)
-
2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 fresh clove, minced or pressed)
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
½ teaspoon dried dill
-
½ teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tablespoon fresh)
-
½ teaspoon dried chives (or 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped)
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¼ teaspoon black pepper
-
1–2 teaspoons lemon juice (or apple cider vinegar) – adjust to taste
Preparation:

Mix it up
In a bowl (or mason jar), combine kefir, mayo (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, chives, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. -
Whisk or shake
-
Whisk everything until smooth and well blended.
-
If using a jar, just screw the lid on and shake it like a smoothie.
-
-
Taste & adjust
Add more salt, lemon, or herbs to suit your flavor preference. -
Let it rest (optional but recommended)
Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
