Kefir Ranch Dressing

Here’s a tangy, creamy, probiotic-rich Kefir Ranch Dressing that’s super easy to whip up. It’s lighter than traditional ranch but still full of sharp flavour—and it only takes about 5–10 minutes.

Equipment Needed:

  • Measuring spoons & cups

  • Small mixing bowl (or mason jar with lid)

  • Whisk (or spoon if shaking in a jar)

  • Knife and cutting board (for fresh herbs, optional)

  • Garlic press or microplane (optional for fresh garlic)

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup plain kefir (whole milk for richness; low-fat works too)

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 fresh clove, minced or pressed)

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon dried dill

  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tablespoon fresh)

  • ½ teaspoon dried chives (or 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped)

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1–2 teaspoons lemon juice (or apple cider vinegar) – adjust to taste

Preparation:

  1. Mix it up
In a bowl (or mason jar), combine kefir, mayo (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, chives, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.

  2. Whisk or shake

    • Whisk everything until smooth and well blended.

    • If using a jar, just screw the lid on and shake it like a smoothie.

  3. Taste & adjust
Add more salt, lemon, or herbs to suit your flavor preference.

  4. Let it rest (optional but recommended)
Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Storage:

  • Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

  • Shake or stir before each use—kefir may separate slightly.

Use It On:

  • Salads, wraps, grain bowls

  • Veggie dip

  • Roasted potatoes or sweet potato fries

  • Grilled chicken or air-fried tofu
