How to Make a General Purpose Cream Filling For Cookies and Biscuits

Here’s a recipe for a basic commercial cream filling that can be used for biscuits:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Preparation:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, vegetable shortening, unsalted butter, and vanilla extract.
  2. Beat the ingredients together with an electric mixer on low speed until they are well combined.
  3. Gradually increase the speed to medium and continue to beat the mixture for another 2-3 minutes, or until it becomes light and fluffy.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of milk to the mixture and beat on low speed until it is well incorporated.
  5. Increase the speed to medium and continue to beat the mixture for another 2-3 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. Transfer the cream filling to a pastry bag with a large round tip or a ziplock bag with a corner cut off.
  7. Pipe the cream filling onto the biscuits, either in the center or along the edge, depending on your preference.
  8. Sandwich the biscuits together to create a complete cookie.
