A great Vietnamese treasure. Honey ginger shrimp is simple to make. The large shrimps are marinated in their sauce before stir-frying in a wok. adding the honey ate the very last second creates a wonderful nutty and sweet deliciousness.
To generate a more impressive appearance to the shrimps, just peel and leave heads and tails on the shrimp.
Serves 4
Preparation: 10 minutes, Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 lb shrimp – peeled and deveined
- 1 teaspoon garlic – chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped chili or red pepper flakes
- thumb sized piece of ginger
- 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon honey
- salt and ground black pepper
Preparation:
- Heat the sunflower oil and red pepper flakes in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions, garlic, ginger and honey; cook and stir until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring as needed, until shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Serve immediately.
