Light Therapy Masks

LED light therapy devices are one of the most popular facial gadgets for the home spa.

This type of treatment has been around for more than 30 years. Most experts agree that the devices are safe,  since they’re non-invasive and don’t emit UV light.

The devices omit coloured light onto the skin. Different colours have specific skin benefits. These range from reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and age spots to helping treat acne.

The most common wavelengths of light used for skin therapies are red and blue.

Red light can increase collagen production in skin cells. This makes your skin look smoother and plumper and can reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It is also thought to improve circulation and reduce inflammation which could make it a useful treatment for both eczema and psoriasis.

Blue light makes oil producing sebaceous glands in the skin less active and also kills bacteria on the skin surface. This makes these devices an effective way to treat facial acne.
